Long time gamer, avid tech geek. That is how I would describe myself.
I got hooked on video games at an early age. I still remember the Christmas my parents purchased an NES for my brother, sister and me. The thing I have a hard time remembering is the first game we played. I am thinking it was most likely Super Mario Bros. or Duck Hunt since my memory has me believing our system came with those games. What I do know for certain is that we each received a bit of Christmas money that year, which my brother and I promptly invested in 2 new games.
He purchased one of my all time favorite games, and the reason I am such an RPG junkie, Final Fantasy. Being a young and nieve little boy, I purchased Chip and Dale’s Rescue Rangers. As you may or may not know, these games had one very, very huge difference. Length of play. I wrapped Chip and Dale’s 4 times in one morning…
I don’t totally regret that purchase though. It taught me some very valuable lessons about video games.
1) *Golden Rule* Rent a game / watch our review / play the demo before you purchase.
2) Don’t buy a game just because you recognize the characters.
3) Short games are not my cup of tea.
4) Your older brother is ALWAYS wiser than you.
I have never been an ‘Achievements’ kinda guy, nor a story mode (except for RPGs) kinda guy. My favorite has always been the challenge of online multiplayer. I find that computer opponents can be too predictable, haha! Look for me in the first person shooter online team battles
